A North Myrtle Beach man faces sentencing after he illegally re-entered the United States, a release stated.
Raul Arreola-Leyva, 39, pled guilty to the charges in federal court. He has re-entered the country illegally several times after a conviction in 1998, the release said.
Arreola-Leyva was convicted in 1998 for distribution of a controlled substance in Horry County. He was deported to his native Mexico in March 2003 and again in September 2003 after he returned.
He was arrested for driving violations in North Myrtle Beach in July 2006. Records show he had returned to the country illegally before that arrest.
Arreola-Leyva could be fined as much as $250,000 and imprisoned as much as 20 years.

Why is it so hard for Mexicans to understand what DEPORT means? Maybe we should start branding them. Then maybe they'll catch on. |
