December 14, 2006--Four busloads of workers arrested in a six-state immigration raid of Swift & Co. plants, arrived at the Des Moines International Airport Thursday afternoon. A transfer flight took them to an unknown destination.
Many of the workers had been held at Camp Dodge in Johnston, but the federal government wouldn't confirm how many. A Sioux Falls ICE agent does confirm the total number of those taken into custody during the federal operation is at 1,282.
The workers were taken to Camp Dodge for processing after Tuesday's raid, and some have already been transferred to jails to await immigration hearings and possible deportation.

I don't care where they take them, as long as it's out of the country. It's about time our government showed some backbone. Good riddens! |
