So what this guy is saying is that protectionism is actually working for American companies in China. China has a protectionist economy and it gives them a 200 + billion dollar trade surplus with the US.
I think its time we saw some tarrifs slapped on chinese imports. We need to quit worrying about this imaginary consumer who will have to pay more for their junk they buy at wal-mart. The majority of the poorest Americans can afford to pay $1.00 more for their plastic elf and other useless junk they buy from wal-mart and Target.
Is it worth losing our economic might for the savings of a dollar on goods we buy?
I don't think so.
There seems to be a concerted effort to destroy my country, even from so-called Americans. Im getting tired of it (actually I've been tired of for a long time). We all should be tired of it.
The only thing that the people can do right now is BUY AMERICAN made products. It matters. The politicians are not doing anything. The chinese just sent Ben Bernanke home empty handed. China owns about one trillion dollars of our debt and they are in the drivers seat. If they decide to unload that debt, they would more than likely crash our currency. They have us over a barrel right now and they know it. Republicans and Democrats have sat there and let this all go down. Their palms are getting greased I'm sure.
Its time for us average to Americans start looking out for each other. Every dollar you spend benefits someone. Lets make most of our dollars benefit America.
