Houston - Immigration officials raided a trash hauling company northeast of Houston on Wednesday, and local media said dozens of workers were rounded up.
Some of the workers, from Republic Waste Co., a unit of Republic Services Inc., were handcuffed and taken away in buses, the media reports said.
Calls to the company were not immediately returned.
Luisa Deason, a spokeswoman with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement said, "We are on site and conducting an enforcement action." She gave no additional details.
