I believe that, during this decade, Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) has been America's MVP:

Most Valuable Politician.

Think about it.

The President of the United States has had two main goals over the last six years:

Invade the world

Invite the world.

The American Establishment had some qualms about the former. But they gave him the green light anyway. And, despite catastrophe in Iraq, they may nevertheless let him start another war - this time with Iran.

In contrast, our elites have strongly supported the Presidents' obsession with opening the borders even further. Miraculously, it hasn't happened…yet.

More than any other individual, Rep. Tancredo, who founded the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus back in 1999, has stood athwart history, yelling "Stop." Without this organized opposition in the House, the President and Senate surely would have saddled us with legislation at least as bad as last May's Hagel-Martinez bill.

Now, Rep. Tancredo has formed a committee to explore running for President in 2008. Having repeatedly explained in the past that he's "too fat, too short and too bald" to run for President, Tancredo has his work cut out to break out above the level of, say, fellow potential Presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul, the Texas libertarian Republican who seems too principled to have any chance of making a splash in the race.

I wish Tom Tancredo could make a good run for it.I never see them talk about him seriously when they talk on T.V.-Radio about him running.I looked up his positions on issues that are important to me, I think he seems like an honest guy, something you dont see in Washington, I'm not sure he will have a chance unless alot of people get behind him, He just does'nt get the air time everyone else gets. There is'nt anyone out there right now other than him that I would consider voting for.

The problem is that Tom Tancredo is seen as a one issue candidate. Perhaps he can get more info out about himself as the campaign goes on. The problem is that the media already has their darling candidates. They don't usually let minor candidates get much air time. The people that get the most "free air time" are the ones spending the most money in television advertising.

Of course if Tancredo had a motivated grassroots effort he could use the internet the same way dopey Howard Dean did.

Its still early, so anything is still possible.

That's great Marcy! I believe the only way we are going to get anyone decent for our next president, is to help with any contributions we can scrape up. I heard that it is going to cost an outrageous 100 million to win. People like Hillary and Obama have the backers. Tancredo needs sponsors.

Who will sponser him? I think only people like us, big companies wont they want illegals here. Do you think enough people will get involved to help him? It's time to have people in Washington fighting for us. Its time to give the country back to the people and not special interest groups or lobbist.I hope he can have a decent run of it. I cant take the games they play anymore, makes me sick.

Tancredo has a big chance, because he is so vocal on illegal immigration. He might have a much better chance if he teams up with another runner, even if it means just vice-president. But, IMO, Americans are getting REAL UPSET about illegal aliens, and consider it a more important issue than the Iraq war. So, time will tell. Confused
