HAYDEN -- When Rep. Jim Clark, R-Hayden Lake, asked citizens at Saturday's town hall meeting if they cared about legislating shooter bull operations, they were silent.
When he asked if they cared about state capitol expansion plans halted by Gov. Butch Otter and later scaled down by agreement to the addition of single-story, instead of two-story, wings, those who came to the meeting jestingly responded "is that his and her wings?"
But they showed they do care about illegal immigration and about the kinds of uses allowed at airports, among other serious issues that could affect their lives.
Sen. Mike Jorgenson, R-Hayden Lake, talked about proposals targeting illegal immigration. The state isn't trying to punish illegal aliens, but to protect Idaho taxpayers, he said.
