|
|
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones spent the last week of January in the nation's capital, doing what he loves to do and does best — stir the pot.
Jones spent five days in Washington, D.C., participating in the National Sheriff's Association committee meetings as a member of committees addressing drugs, court security and immigration — a subject near and dear to Jones' law enforcement agenda.
The sheriff is an outspoken advocate for immigration policy reform, a hot-button issue in the nation, and Jones said people helping frame a new immigration reform law got an ear full from the 12 sheriffs serving on the committee.
"There was no yelling, but there was some anger," Jones said.
Among the suggestions made by the sheriffs was closing all immigration for a period of time until illegal immigration enforcement can be addressed.
"Close the borders for legal immigration, until we can get a handle on illegal immigration," Jones said. "Not forever. But maybe a moratorium for 12 months until we get the illegals under control."
Jones said the committee also stressed the need for more training of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

How about we just get serious about the safety of these United States. Why stop the people who are trying to come here the right way? Stop the illegal criminals that are coming across our border.
Why take away the rights of American citizens with the Patriot Act when you could just seal our borders and almost eliminate the threat of a new terror attack?
Why waste 2.9 trillion this year on Iraq in the name of fighting terror and keeping America safe, when we could just send the guard down to the border and seal it up? After all, they are called the NATIONAL guard. I have always assumed that it was talking about this nation.
Silly me.

The Patriot Act doesn't benefit us if we have to give up our rights and freedoms. Bush and his lousy administration are so hell bent on Open Borders and Trades, and Americans are finally waking up and speaking out about it.
There should be a moritorium for at least 2 years, the fence should run the entire southern border, and illegal aliens need to be deported. If we are ever going to gain our respect back, these must be done. |

Niether the Republicans or Democrats will do anything about it. They will talk the talk come election time, but they will never solve the problem. They are the problem.
The Dems were already talking about defunding the 700 mile border fence that was passed right before the last election. The Republicans probably would have done the same thing. After all they are in effect the same party. Barely a dimes difference between them.
Liars, traitors and crooks. The lot of them.
Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo are the exception.
