Prosecutors have charged an Orange County sheriff's deputy with detaining prostitutes and then sexually assaulting them in his patrol car.
Deputy Richard Rodriguez, 43, was charged Thursday with five felony counts of false imprisonment, three misdemeanor counts of sexual battery and one misdemeanor count of engaging in acts of prostitution.
Rodriguez, who has been on administrative leave since March pending an investigation, was arrested when he reported to sheriff's headquarters for a meeting about the case, sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.
Rodriguez, of Chino, posted $500,000 bail Friday and was to be arraigned Monday.
It wasn't immediately clear whether Rodriguez had retained an attorney and attempts to reach him by phone Friday morning were unsuccessful.
The investigation began eight months ago when one of the victims came forward.

| You got a problem with hispanics bro? That guy could have been named Smith or Swensen. Americans (yes I said it) are Americans bro. White, brown, yellow or black. Don't be trying to split us up. Our bad guys are our bad guys and we deal with them. Don't be ditzin on the dude because he is hispanic, he's a bad dude and that's enough. We ain't got no place for your racist hate here. |

I definetly don't have a problem with hispanics. I have a problem with people who have power and authority and then abuse it. I think the white cops in San Francisco that shot and abused a bunch of people who were maybe suspects but many of them innocent.
Why do you think I have a problem with Hispanics? I defend the people that actually deserve a chance in this country who are here illegally and but I am not going to defend people who are criminals or who overstep authority. If the cop was white or black or asian I would have still posted the article. I didn't realize he was Hispanic actually till you pointed it out. (It was late when I posted the article so that part probaly didn't register.) |
