There is a connection between high energy prices and the decrease in domestic manufacturing. When Americans started buying low cost products made in China and India, their economies started to boom. This led them to drastically need more energy. As China and India began to buy more and more energy, it caused energy inflation. The net result was that Americans aren’t saving a dime by buying the cheaper products. Any savings is more than erased by the increased cost of energy. The savings from buying cheap goods isn’t going back into the American economy. The result is that we are loosing jobs and not gaining any capital to make more jobs. We have to start buying American made products.
