The leader of the Wisconsin Farmers Union says current U.S. policy allows agricultural products to be sold on the international market far below their cost of production--and she would like to see some major changes in the nation's trading policies if farmers want to continue to run profitable operations. Sue Beitlich was among those who testified at a recent global trade conference in Madison, which focused on the threat to Wisconsin and local sovereignty from global free trade agreements.
