|

I noticed today that gas prices have taken a jump, again. Day before the 4th they went up 3 cents, and now they took about a 9 cent jump from yesterday. So it looks like once again big oil will have another record profit year, the 6 th in a row.
Why is it that nothing is being done to stop this? We need money from the government to get alternative fuels up and out to the public. We need higher goals for gas mileage, we need to stop allowing the oil companies to bleed us dry so they can make over 36 billion a year in "profits.
My question is why isn't our president and congress doing something about this? Could it be because they are deep in the pockets of big oil, and dare not upset the balance of "money" being spent by the oil companies to gaurantee those "profits" keep on coming?
This is just another example of a congress and an administration who care nothing for the average American, but cater to the rich and greedy!
Regular gas is now $3.19 in my town, diesel is $3.26. This is over twice as much as I was paying before Bush took office. And I am sorry to say that I voted for him, the first time, but learned my lesson and changed that the second time!
Take care.

This is all done on purpose. Bush attacked Iraq because they were about to increase oil production. That would have sent prices threw the floor. So he put a stop to that when he invaded them. He needs the prices high to keep up the continued pressure on middle America to give him all the other things he wants at this time. Just think of it as leverage. He is sanctioning us to comply with him. Prices are being manipulated.
Now that the Middle East has had a good eye full of Bush's intent on Iraq, they no longer want to supply America oil either. Same with South America. We are paying for his greed and miscalculations across the board, from as far as a few years back. So they manipulate even more.
Bottom line I wouldn't count on anything being done about prices on gas till the next president. and that is a maybe too. Look for car pooling opportunities or public transportation. Prices in Hawaii are $3.75 a gallon on today's news. |

Actually, I dont believe the President attacked because prices were low. I think he attacked Iraq for a few different reasons. One being that Hussein tried to have his father killed after the first war. My own opinion is that we should have a scorched earth policy against any nation or dictator that tries to kill one of our Presidents.
Second he wanted to take out this bad man.
Third Iraq was considering or was about to start billing for oil in euros. That my friends would be a big deal. If nations started billing for oil in euros, that would devalue our currency because nations would be buying euros instead of dollars. The fact that nations buy our dollar to pay for oil keeps our currency propped up. If nations quit buying dollars to pay for oil then those Federal Reserve notes that are in your pockets would be on their way to being worthless. At that point it would take more and more dollars to buy anything. Gas might be $10.00 a gallon milk might be$7.00 a gallon. The point being everything would cost more because the dollar would be worth less.
Just a note here. Iran intended to start billing in euros in march of this year. Im not sure wether they have or not. But I think it is worth looking into.

Yea I recently read were there are already several oil contracts with other countries who are already paying with Euro's. Can't remember which countries the contracts were with. I think it was at least one Middle Eastern and one south American. But, cannot remember the exact one's now.
Yes I agree I think alot of stuff played into why this Bush attacked Iraq. But once his father choose not to pursue the issue beyond the 1st Gulf War, then it should have been left alone. I guess what I am trying to say is, I do not feel Bush had any valid reason for attacking Iraq and getting us into a war. Be it Euro's, the amount of oil they wanted to pump, a family vendetta, or how Saddam treated his people. The rest of the reasons like WOD's and terrorist connections to Al quiada have already been proven false as well.
Now hind sight 20/20, it is probaly why Iran and N. Korea began to esculate their nuc's programs at full steam. Both horrid contries, which would have sooner or later. But, for both to jump on it at the same time leads me to think Bush's actions provoked it. For what this war has cost us in American lives, money and the hatred of the world, I do not see it was worth it. And fail to see how it will benefit us after all is said and done. |
