The Government is asking for donations to reduce the public debt. Maybe the Congressman and Senators that are wasting our money can pool their paychecks and make a donation.
Yeah right!
Here is the national debt as of July 13 8,416,174,438,670.69 . Remember folks, the Government borrowed that in your name. That debt is yours and mine.

Hmmmmmm wonder how much Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Rove, and the rest of the Bush bunch have donatated!
Maybe this is Bush's new "plan" for reducing the debt, get the taxpayers to do if for him then "he" can take credit for it!
Take care.

A huge chunk of that is also "borrowed" from our social security fund.
The nerve of these people is apparently limitless anymore.
This area of the country has recently cut funding to social services again. HUD has been cut back so badly there is a freeze on new applicants as well as any landlord rent increases. Meaning if the landlord raises rent it will come out of the renters pocket.
The average citizen around here looks at a $10 an hour job as a good paying job anymore. Over 80% of the jobs here are $8. The average rent is $800 for a small 2 bedroom apartment. 40% or more of jobs here, are seasonal work. Property taxes went sky high about 3 years ago as contractors moved into the area and began building like crazy, hoping to draw "city people" here. Our schools were small and now overcrowed beyond the max. Jobs were scarce here 8 years ago, and even more scarce as of 5 years ago. Employers are notorious here for giving jobs to high school/college students, rather than an adult who is raising kids. And a canning factory here only hires illegal's.
My point is, small town America is barely hanging on with a toe nail anymore. Add in gas prices, and a state that has so little to offer that you must drive 2 to 4 hours to even find a dentist who accepts your medical card. The cost of living going threw the roof due to high gas prices. Minimum wage has not seen an increase since 1997. And all I am left with is to ask is, What in the hell are we suppose to donate with?
Other than gross misspending and appropriation of our tax dollars. What the hell have they done for us lately? |

Well I keep hearing Bush say how much "better" things are since he took over. "Better" economy, more "peace" in the world, etc. I just wish he would show some real "proof" of these claims because I sure don't see it, and neither do millions of other Americans.
I just think it takes a lof of nerve to ask the American citizen to fork out a "donation" for the mess Bush has gotten us into in the las 5 1/2 years! Let him and his cronies pay of the debt they put us in!
Take care.

| Well, that just TAKES THE CAKE!!! To whom do we make out our checks--CHINA????? And, it sure would make sense that those representatives that we so foolishly elected to represent us could allocate their latest raise to reducing the deficit, wouldn't it? I'm willing to bet that the Maniac and Cheniac are contributing ONE RED CENT to this fund. No, they will wring it out of us poor taxpayers who are barely making ends meets as it is. |
