NEW YORK, NY, United States (UPI) -- Congress appears ready to pass a sweeping bill making it easier to track convicted * offenders, a report said.

One major aspect of the legislation would be the creation of a national Internet database dedicated to keeping tabs on * offenders. It also would strengthen some penalties, including allowing the death penalty for those who murder child victims.

The aim, USA Today said Thursday, is to help police locate more than 100,000 such offenders who are registered but haven`t updated their whereabouts.

About 563,000 * offenders are registered nationwide.

I was under the impression this law had passed a few years ago. The truth is, it must pass. We have got to keep track of these monsters.
I was reading a response at the bottom of this article, stating that they would be afraid that teenagers would be prosecuted under this law even though they had consensual *. I would hope that lawmakers would be better judges than to go after teens with having consensual *, but throw the book at the molesters. Sad

Nope it has been on a shelf for years because Senate has attached an amendment that has nothing to do with the issue, to the bill. I can't recall at the moment what it was, but it wasn't a good thing. They have used the importance of this bill to blackmail everyone involved into signing it, thus railroading this attachment down our throats for the sake of trying to protect our children and women.

Dang it I can't recall what the heck it was. But, it has been big enough and ugly enough to keep the whole bill shelved for years.

I have taken note that daily, around the country judges and government are lowering the age of consent. I find this very disturbing. Another "boys will be boys" so if we lower the ages we do not have to prosecute them for going after our young. Even in 2006 the good Ol boys are still at work.
