Could GOP “Extinction” Along with Obama Policies Lead to Rise in 3rd Parties?

Lancaster, PA (July 28, 2009) Noted pollster John Zogby’s recent commentary that the Republican Party could disappear as a viable national party comes on the heels of polls showing widespread Republican dissatisfaction with the GOP along with an unprecedented falling away by Republicans bringing the GOP down to its lowest level in a generation. That, along with recent polls showing President Obama’s declining approval rating shows Americans may be ready to consider looking outside the “Big Box” parties.

Zogby asked: “Will the Republican Party go the way of the Federalists and eventually disappear ... the Federalists were a major party, but faded ... by 1820.

It may be hard to imagine that after more than 150 years of existence, when Republicans have held the White House about twice as often as have Democrats that the GOP would disappear. Republicans (and Democrats) have been shut out of power in Washington in the past” (emphasis added).

Constitution Party National Committee Chairman Jim Clymer said “As Mr. Zogby noted, “major” parties have come and gone before and can come and go again, like the Whig party which faded into obscurity because it ignored its base. Those who favor a return to Constitutional limits on government have had it with both major parties and many are working to usher in parties they agree with more.”

The Constitution Party is the only federally recognized party whose platform conforms with the U.S. Constitution’s well-defined role of the Federal government and its limitations.

2008 Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin received the endorsement of former Republican presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul (R, TX) consistently rated the only 100% constitutionally sound member of Congress.

President Obama’s push for socialized medicine, spending for unconstitutional wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, along with tax payer “bailouts” of private industry have caused even former supporters to react with alarm.

If Americans could realize that both parties have outlived their usefulness, it could be used to garner support for the CP. If they could get a grasp on the reality that both parties are bought and paid for, it could help. One blast of reality of where this country is headed would anger Americans enough to make a difference. Auditing the fed would provide this.

I am still waiting for Butterfly to tell me how much the bailout total is. Conversation needs to remain open. If you don't agree with me on some vague item, I am not going to reject you for it. But this arguing gets us nowhere. And that is the motive of government today is to keep us divided and a divided populace can be conquered, but slowly. Keep the giant sleeping and arguing among themselves.
