I did learn that he has Libertarian tendencies....not necessarily "The Libertarian Party".....I looked at his recent voting record and noticed that he voted against some things that preempt state sovereignty....that is good from a constitutional standpoint.....of course I'm not an expert in these things lol.

this is exactly what Goode wrote me a few months ago when I asked for his endorsment for Baldwin. " That you for your email concerning Chuck Baldwin, the constituion partys 2008 presidential nominee. I have never met Chuck Baldwin but based on what I have read on his position regarding NAFTA, North American Union, and illegal immigration, I believe that he would support my view on no to NAFTA ,no to the North American Union, and no to illegal immigration. He stoped short of an endorsement and as his race drew closer he needed the money and backing of the Republicans so he ended up backing McCain.

Based on his letter to me would it be worth pursing him to run for office with our party? Be it federal or state?

I'd say it wouldn't hurt if he loses the seat.....after the 24th we'll know because there is probably going to be a recount of the votes because his race is so close. If he does lose the race then maybe switching parties would give him momentum for next election cycle....if nothing else it would bring a lot of visibility fot the CP....

At this time, the CST does not have ballot access in Indiana. The state chairman of the Green Party as well as myself wrote to at least 5 members of the Indiana General Assembly to persuade them to lower the number of signatures for a party to 5,000. Currently the law is 2% of the previous Sec of State's race (which was in 2006). This amounted to about 34,500 signatures for ballot access, meaning that about 48,000 signatures would have to be gathered since they would throw out a certain percentage. If you are from Indiana and can converse with your state senator or state rep, please ask them to lower the number of sigs to 5,000 for a party. Even if they balk and make it 10,000, at least it is more in the realm of realistic.
