Texas Access
This is going to be fun getting a CP candidate on the Texas Ballot, but we are going to try. David Kirkland is the CP candidate for Governor of Texas.

Voting in a primary in Texas locks you into the party you voted for, so I didn't vote so as to sign the CP party Kirkland petition.

RE: Texas Access
Hubcap,
Somehow, someway your team down there needs to set a goal to have 20,000 or 30,000 members, and maybe you already have. They'll have to decide whether all of the time and money utilized to obtain signatures would not have been better used to obtain members. Keep us posted on the progress. Wishing you success.....

RE: Texas Access
That is one of the problems that seems to plague. We have the entire media against us. I have never heard the term "Constitution Party" mentioned in Texas except one place.

RE: Texas Access
According to the statistics from ballotaccessnews, in 2008 to get on the ballot the party needed 43,991 registered members or 74,108 signatures to get a presidential candidate on the ballot. It seems to me that Texas has had nothing but Republican governors since 1994. I have not heard of any stringent measures the state has taken to shut down the borders, only stories about a NAFTA (do we hafta) superhighway. I thought Texas was an independently-minded, no body messes with Texas kind of a state. Illegals are messing with Texas and no elected officials have protested enough for me to hear. In my humble opinion, pick these three issues (illegal immigration, the 10th Amendment, and fiscal common sense) at the county fairs and hand out info regarding said issues. Not sure what your parties budget is (especially with unemployment levels where they are), but is there a possibility of renting booths at county fairs for this summer?

I know that many have this impression of Texas being a no nonsense,
"Don't Mess With Texas" kind of thing. But folks have got to understand that the American/Texas Citizen are the minority in this state. Big Corporations hire illegals and use the excuse "they work cheaper". If you take the Welfare, Lone Star Cards and free medical the illegals receive and put the same benefits in the hands of Texans, they could work for less too! Texas employers LOVE the illegal because it takes the burden off the employer and puts in squarely in the hand of the Texas Taxpayer!

We have thousands of volunteers that would gladly patrol our southern boarder with no expense to the state, but if you did that, you would be arrested! We have illegals who are exempt for liability insurance because they cannot enforce it upon someone who has no real identity! Here we Texans are having to compete for jobs with the 3rd world welfare recipient who has benefits oozing out of his wallet and the conclusion is that the illegals do the jobs that Texans won't do.

That is a bunch of Bullcorn. Any Texas paving job has been contracted out to employers who hire illegals. We just cannot compete with workers who are drawing Welfare, Foodstamps and at the same time, getting a paycheck.

Texas is a mess folks. We are filled with Sanctuary Cities. If you are waiting for Texas to take the lead, you had better get off you rear and do something for yourself. Texas hasn't got an independent bone in her body anymore, we are following in the footsteps of California in handing every piece of land to foreign investors to secure debt and party boy Rick Perry has his fingerprints all over it...And we are stuck with him for another round because of the R beside his name.

When you see gun confiscation in Dallas under the new Chief of Police that will be in office soon....watch out. And this new Chief is from California. Texas ain't Texas anymore, it is northern Mexico.

Why don't get a guy who knows how to work the media or make commercials? If this is the obvious problem, don't you think you should direct your energy there? Just my humble opinion

Good point. But it isn't going to be me. I am but a humble trucker who must work 70 hours a week to meet my obligations. I am the Pavlov dog that continues showing up for his daily punishment.

It is going to take someone with enough time on their hands and the means to do a proper job of it.

Now if you need a load of bulk cement hauled in a pneumatic tanker? I'm there! LOL!
