Support New Alaska Constitution Party
Welcome to Your New Political Home, the Alaska Constitution Party!
We are your choice for a party vigorously dedicated to upholding the principles of constitutional law. We exist to uphold the Alaska and U.S.A. Constitutions. We hope to educate the public and to field and support local, state and national candidates and issues important to us. We are awaiting approval of our proposed bylaws from the U.S. Department of Justice and the Alaska Division of Elections. Once approved, we will become an official "Political Group" until we can secure enough registered voters (about 8,000) to enable us to earn the designation as a Political Party with automatic ballot status in Alaska. http://www.elections.alaska.gov/doc/forms/C03.pdf Alaskan voters may register as Alaska Constitution Party (ACP) members, by downloading the Alaska voter registration form, checking "Other" box in #13 Political Affiliation and filling out the blank line exactly with "Alaska Constitution Party" as your voter registration choice, then mail or deliver completed form to the nearest election office. RE: Support New Alaska Constitution Party
If things don't work out so well for ballot status for the ACP in 2012, what would this mean for getting the presidential ticket on the AK ballot using the AIP? Is there any chance the AIP would cooperate?

RE: Support New Alaska Constitution Party
We will do our best to secure ballot status for the ACP prior to 2012. At this time, is is highly unlikely that the AIP would cooperate. Of course, in politics, things can change rapidly and unexpectedly.
I have thought long and hard about this and I keep coming back to Fusion & Proportional Representation. I think Fusion is an easier sell. So, this was sent out today to key Alaska legislators: Dear Senator/Representative, I am writing as one of your constituents regarding election reform in the State of Alaska. I would like to propose a fusion election system, whereby candidates may simultaneously receive the endorsement of more than one political party. This is the type of system in place in New York. In such a scenario, a candidate may run on both the Republican and Libertarian tickets for example. All votes received on all party lines would then be credited to that candidate. This may be a way out of our current election morass. It is evident that substantive changes are needed. I look forward to your thoughts on this. Sincerely, J.R. Myers Soldotna 262-7560 |

RE: Support New Alaska Constitution Party
There are two ways for political groups to become recognized political parties
with ballot access in Alaska. In 2010 parties must achieve at least 3% of the vote for Governor, that is 7,686 out of 256,192 votes caste in the November 2010 election. So, once the Alaska Constitution Party is certified as a political group, which should happen within the next two weeks, the Alaska Division of Elections will include the ACP on Alaska Voter Registration Forms and will begin to tally our membership each month. That means our immediate goal is to start building up our membership to 7,686 and beyond. We will also need to organize our inaugural statewide ACP convention in Spring 2011. We will need local party contacts and willing candidates for local office throughout Alaska in 2011. I look forward to working together to reach our goal looking toward the 2011 and 2012 elections. In Freedom, J.R.Myers Acting Chairman Alaska Constitution Party |

RE: Support New Alaska Constitution Party
In a letter dated 12/08/10, and received today, the U.S. Department of Justice,
Civil Rights Division, Voting Section states in part: "The Attorney General does not interpose any objection to the specified changes." In essence, this means that the U.S. D.O.J. approves our submitted proposed by-laws. I have also faxed a copy of this letter to the Alaska Division of Elections Director, Gail Fenumiai. She is required to review and approve our application for official recognition as a Political Group in Alaska. Once approved, which should occur in relatively short order, the Alaska Constitution Party will be listed on the official Alaska Division of Elections website, and will be listed as a choice on ALL VOTER REGISTRATION FORMS THROUGHOUT ALASKA! With this, we are well on our way towards our voter registration and ballot access goals. I will keep you updated on further developments. Peace & Blessings, J.R. Myers Acting Chairman Alaska Constitution Party |

RE: Support New Alaska Constitution Party
Dear Alaska Constitution Party Supporter,
How many of you have looked around and seen that our heritage of Liberty is rapidly slipping away? What is become of our beloved America? The young among us have never experienced the Freedom that many of our older citizens have known, and sadly too often taken for granted. Many no longer understand the sovereignty of the individual, the rule of law and the social contract which is our constitution. Individual initiative is replaced by government dole, command and control. This grieves me. It is easy to become discouraged with what is happening to our culture and our country. Now, more than ever, is the time to Reclaim Our Legacy. We must not give up! Now is the time to push forward. We must persevere towards our goal. The Alaska Constitution Party needs YOU! Help us grow! We are the only faith based party in Alaska dedicated to upholding both the Alaska and U.S. Constitutions. Please join us in this important work. I am very pleased to announce that the Alaska Constitution Party has received approval from the the U.S. Department of Justice and the Alaska Division of Elections to form a political party. The ACP now been officially recognized as a Political Group in Alaska. This means, that for the first time ever, Alaskans may register to vote as members of the Alaska Constitution Party. The Alaska Division of Elections will now track ACP numbers on a monthly basis. Our next goal is to gain 8,000 registered ACP members and more. We realize this will take time and much effort. Your help is critical at this nascent stage of ACP development. In order to register as ACP, one needs to complete an Alaska voter registration form, check the, "Other" box and write in, "Alaska Constitution Party", then turn it in to your local election office. This will be the process until the new voter registration forms are approved, printed and distributed statewide. That should happen in March. At that time, all that will be needed to register as ACP will be to check the ACP box. We will launch a formal membership drive soon. Also, we look forward with excitement to planning our first ACP convention in 2011. I anticipate this convention to be held this Summer or Fall. The likely convention site is either somewhere on the Kenai Peninsula or in Anchorage. It is at this convention that ACP members will formally adopt bylaws, a platform and elect officers. Your participation will help lay the groundwork for our success as we look towards the 2012 election cycle. We need you, your family, friends, coworkers and neighbors to get involved! Help us to build the ACP into a powerful voice for constitutional government. We need lACP eaders at all levels and will be seeking candidates for local elections this year, as well as the important races in 2012. How much can you give of your time, talent and treasure? What is the price of restoring our government to its constitutional bounds? It will take all of us working together. It will be well worth the effort. Please join our ACP Yahoo Group at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AlaskaCP/ and our Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages...3572382780 Thank you for your commitment to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns. Honoring Our Heritage, Pioneering Our Future! J.R. Myers Acting Chairman Alaska Constitution Party 907-262-7560 P.O. RE: Support New Alaska Constitution Party
Dear Legislator,
The proposed "Top-Two" Nonpartisan Blanket Primary Election system is wrong for Alaska. It is unacceptable in that it will lead to a "One-Party" state and further political corruption. I would suggest that you contact the various political parties in Alaska before proceeding with any election system changes. There are many options; eliminating publicly funded primaries and nomination of candidates at party conventions, proportional representation and/or fusion voting. I would be happy to dialogue with you regarding these issues. Please read the following article and comments found at Ballot Access News. Stop HB 77 now! Peace & Blessings, J.R.Myers Chairman Alaska Constitution Party BILL: HB 77 SHORT TITLE: NONPARTISAN BLANKET PRIMARY ELECTION BILL VERSION: CURRENT STATUS: (H) STA STATUS DATE: 01/18/11 THEN JUD SPONSOR(s): REPRESENTATIVE(s) GRUENBERG, CISSNA, KAWASAKI TITLE: "An Act establishing a top two nonpartisan blanket primary election system for elective state executive and state and national legislative offices; changing appointment procedures relating to precinct watchers and members of precinct election boards, election district absentee and questioned ballot counting boards, and the Alaska Public Offices Commission; requiring certain written notices to appear in election pamphlets and polling places; relating to declarations of candidacy and letters of intent; and amending the definition of 'political party.'" http://www.ballot-access.org/2011/01/14/.../#comments |
