Which states got ballot access?

RE: Which states got ballot access?
The silver lining for Texas CPers is that once this incredibly difficult task is completed the task of remaining ballot qualified isn't usually so tough. There are enough statewide races that are not competed by both major parties to allow an alternative nominee to get a large enough percentage of the vote to requalify the party for the next election.

RE: Which states got ballot access?
Ray,
I may have thrown this idea out here before, but if not, here it is: on this site, or the national CP site, or both, can somebody put up a map of the US similar to those seen on TV on election nights? At that point, color the states where we have ballot access in 2012 in gold, and for the others put the number of signatures needed and the due date under it. For instance, Illinois would appear a clear color and then one would see 35,000 (and underneath that) 6/30/2012. The map would be both encouraging and motivating as each state competes against others not to be left out in the cold in Nov 2012....

The National website used to have a map like that. It will probably be pulled out again as more states start to petition for ballot access.

RE: Which states got ballot access?
Alabama is in limbo. I am talking to Richard Winger as Ballot Access News will be filing a lawsuit over the change in Primary Date by the GOP. As of now we would have to have BOTH the Presidential and VP candidates named on the petitions and have 55000 sigs confirmed by MAY of 2012 in order to qualify as a Party for the Presidential race. You guys need to watch this one as it's going to get shall we say "interesting" in the near future.
