Candidate Announcement and Plans for Ballot Access in House District 105 Special Election
Montgomery, AL. January 30, 2011- The Constitution Party of Alabama today is announcing plans to obtain ballot access in the special election to be held for Alabama House of Representatives District 105. Upon the announcement of a date of election by Gov. Bentley the party will proceed with collecting necessary signatures. William J. Atkinson III will seek our party nomination in this special election. “Bill” Atkinson is a local businessman, owner of Atkinson Nursery in Theodore since 1989. A former physics teacher and father of six, Bill plans to take the same Christian standards of honesty, quality and good service to Montgomery that his business has been built on the past twenty two years. He and his family’s service here in Alabama and overseas are longstanding and long lasting from deep historical ties to the State to opening an orphanage in Honduras, the Atkinson family has always served their fellow man. The Constitution Party is proud that a man like Bill Atkinson is seeking our nomination. It’s time for bold new leadership in Montgomery; the citizens of House District 105 have an opportunity to send real change and a clear message to the status quo. Interested parties and questions can contact, Joshua Cassity, State Chairman JCassity@CPAlabama.org, or John Holland, PR Director JHolland@CPAlabama.org . Wow...I like what William has to say. I like what he said about never having understood what exactly qualifies a person to become a politician. Wish I were in Alabama so I could help vote him in.

What was the outcome of yesterday's balloting?
I just found it online. David Sessions (Rep) 1926 54% Bill Atkinson (Const) 1641 46%. Not a win but a doggone impressive result for a nominee of an alternative party in my opinion. Good job, Bill!
