Election 2012 & Related News
The ACP needs to field a strong candidate for U.S. House in 2012 to secure ballot access with at least 3% of the vote. We will need to gather petition signatures for that and for whomever the CP nominees are for President and Vice President in order to get the candidates on the Alaska ballot. The last official meeting of the ACP held in Soldotna, Alaska a few months ago decided that the ACP would not hold a statewide convention until we have at least 100 registered voters in Alaska. As of 11/03/2011, the ACP has 24 registered voters, an increase of 5 voters from the month before. Obviously, it will require more active outreach efforts to grow at a faster pace and to qualify candidates for the Alaska ballot. Until we hold a statewide convention, we are operating with a proposed Alaska CP platform. We have accepted the National CP platform and have been recognized as the Official Alaska Affiliate by the National Committee of the CP recently at their meeting in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
