Updates on Ballot Initiaives
![]() Okay the Constitution Party is definitely on the ballot here in Florida how are we doing in the other states ? We are what between 25-32 states thus far ? I'm doing my part over at Prison-Planet but thought I'd check here to gauge the Constitution Party's progress. Any petitions can be submitted here or over at http://www.prisonplanet.com and over at the Ron Paul forum http://www.ronpaulforums.com/index.php Let's make it 50 in 2009. Good luck to all those hitting the pavement with this.

RE: Updates on Ballot Initiaives
I believe its Twenty states. But with so many states on the ballot already the National Party will be able to spend more money in fewer states next time for ballot access.

RE: Updates on Ballot Initiaives
With all due respect there Ray...
Baldwin/Castle Ticket Sets Constitution Party Record in 27 States in ’08 by Richard Winger http://www.ballot-access.org The Constitution Party has run a presidential candidate in each of the last five presidential elections. In 2008, its presidential nominee, Chuck Baldwin, polled a higher percentage of the vote than any previous Constitution Party presidential candidate had ever polled in 27 states. Those 27 states are: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Nevada and Oklahoma are so tightly Republican and NY is so tightly Democrat. Of course NYS will accept a big enough bribe to get on the ballot with all the lost income from the housing market and the loss of industry. |

RE: Updates on Ballot Initiaives
But Vol, some states, like Minnesota, have no partisan elections this year, thus some state CP's have no need to get ballot access...
What I mean is, if there are only 20 or 25 state CP's on the ballot for 2009, it won't look as good as it will in 2010, when all states have partisan elections. So if the number looks discouraging come election day this year, keep that fact in mind. RE: Updates on Ballot Initiaives
What we need to do is expose the Constitution Party at all the TEA Party protests then get people there to start a drive for the Constitution Party while the momentum is there.
It's all about timing. Besides why wait until an election before making sure the CP has ballot access ?? Get it now in all 50 states while the anti-Obama, anti-Republican sentiment is still strong. |

RE: Updates on Ballot Initiaives
In many states where the CP did not get enough votes in 2008 to maintain a ballot position the period that petitions may be circulated has not yet begun. In other states petitioning can begin now. I believe the information about which states fall into each category can be found at Ballot Access News http://www.ballot-access.org/ or by emailing Richard Winger directly. I agree with Volitzer that in those states where petitioning can begin now ballot drives should get underway. This would give the CP two benefits... first, a chance of getting enough signatures from volunteers without having to resort to paid circulators which is very costly. Second, the opportunity to save resources in 2010 when drives must occur in some states by having as many completed as possible.
