What I Would Say to America

WHAT I WOULD SAY TO AMERICA

Withers, an American As a natural born citizen of this nation, born in 1950 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, and raised in McMurray, Pennsylvania from 1955 through 1968 before attending and graduating from the USCG Academy in 1972; I was privileged with attending the same public school system during those first twelve years of my education. I had many ‘old school’ teachers who possessed and passed along their sound moral values – moral values based upon the written Word of God found in the Holy Bible. I can remember during first through seventh grade my teachers opened class each morning by reading at least ten verses from the Holy Bible, then began the day with verbal prayer asking the Lord of the Bible to bless our school day, and then we pledged allegiance to the American flag which included the phrase “one nation, under God,” which signified to me that as a people we were willing to submit to Almighty God as the supreme, highest authority over our nation and over our lives as individuals.
