Where are we headed?

History tells us that history is repeated, and often, among those who do not know history.

I think history is repeated not by those who do not know it, but by those unwilling to take the steps and make the sacrifices to prevent the repetition. We have seen time and again laws like HR 45 (please google it and read) passed in other nations. It is almost a cliche and redundant to say "Hitler had one like it", no this one is worse than his. It is stupefying to say, "your guns are in danger." It is childish to quote the gun grabbing nations of Britain, Canada, Australia, and reel off the rights they are loosing. Nope, they lost them before the gun grab took place. They were placid and had no stomach to stand up for rights. Where is a good Oliver Cromwell when you need him?

But, in Turkey, Germany, and many other nations, the gun grabs had nothing to do with guns, it had to do with freedom, liberty and the ability to resist oppression and tyranny. Let say it clearly, "it's not about the guns, it's about the rights."

History tells us that in the Warsaw ghetto there were 440,000 Jews, the trains pulled up, and loaded 4,000 a day until there were only 50,000 left. At which point with 12 guns the revolt began. In the end, 10,000 Jews survived, 5,000 escaping, 5,000 living in the sewers until liberated by the Russians. Oh, of the other 390,000, fewer than 1,000 of them survived.

Look at Afghanistan. The numbers are stark. 160 Al Quida, 20,000 Taliban. On the other side of the field, 32,000 Allied troops, 64,000 U.S. troops. And we are loosing. Air superiority, land superiority, supply chain, weapons, training, leadership, all superior to the U.S. side. Why are we loosing?

The same reason it took a German division to quell a rebellion of several thousand with 12 guns in a ghetto, the same reason the British gave up Iraq 60 years ago, and the French Indo-China, etc.etc.etc.

History? Will it repeat itself? Yes, or a reasonable simile thereto. Men with guns across the nation grousing about the government constitute a nuisance, but 70 odd men standing on Lexington Green started a revolution. Resistance is not futile, it is futuristic.

Gather together, like the eagles to the carcass.
